Goshen High School - Crimson Band & Guard: Band Home Page...

The Varsity winter guard placed 2nd in their round and 6th overall in the state in prelims. They are proudly heading down to semi state/state competition on the 20th.

1st place at the Decatur Central Winter Percussion Contest this past Saturday.  The ensemble broke the 90 point barrier in the season opener (we won state last year with a 91.2) to start the season in grand fashion.  The group will travel to Norwell HS next Saturday to continue their run to the Indiana Percussion Association State Finals in March.

Under the most unusual and ugly conditions I have seen in 5 years of band competitions, our students had a great performance.  Low lighting, wet, cold, crowded, and the audience close to the performance field made conditions tough.  I am sure Tom and his staff will have comments later about how the students performed, and what the rankings were for the bands that made it to Semi-State (including GOSHEN).

I would also like to express my gratitude to the Band members and Prop Crew for their efforts and enthusiasm getting the props loaded, unloaded, on and off the field, and loaded again.  Great job!  I also want to express how impressed I am with our future band member from the Middle School.  Their energy and willingness to help will go a long way in the Goshen Band program's success over the next few years.  

And how about our food committee?  Just think how many they fed, in those conditions, in a short period of time.  Thanks to all who donated food and supplies.  Without your help I don't think our students would do as well. 

I am very proud of all our students and look forward to next week and SEMI-STATE!

We are having another Hacienda Gives Back Day! September 22, 2009

Last time we raised $2,100.00 – let’s beat that amount this time!!!

How you ask? By selling Gift Cards!!!! We are asking each family to sell 5 Hacienda Gift Cards. Denominations begin at $5.00 and go as high as $100.00!!!! These gift cards can be used at ANY Hacienda restaurant!!!

Please collect the money at the time of sale!!!! Then return the order form and your money into Kimberly Whitehead on or before September 21st.

I’ll need to call our order in the day before our fundraiser. The gift cards will be purchased on September 22, 2009 and ready for distribution on September 23, 2009.
